DAVID LEE ROTH Streams New Version Of VAN HALEN's "Jump"

Roth now tackles Van Halen's biggest hit

David Lee Roth has unveiled a newly recorded version of Van Halen's beloved classic "Jump," which you can stream now below.Roth tack

The new recording, laid down on May 3, 2022, during a session at Henson Recording Studio in Hollywood, California, features Al Estrada on guitar, Ryan Wheeler on bass, and Francis Valentino on drums. It's said that music and vocals were tracked live with "no samples", and pitch-correction technology Auto-Tune was not employed.

As everyone knows, "Jump" was originally released in 1983 as the lead single from Van Halen's sixth studio album, 1984. The song topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart and became the band's most successful single, and one of their most recognizable and enduring hits. Roth dedicated the song to martial artist Benny "The Jet" Urquidez, of whom he was a student.

In addition to several Van Halen songs shared over the last few months, Roth also unveiled a song called "Nothing Could Have Stopped Us Back Then Anyway" earlier this year, with now-Mötley Crüe guitarist John 5 on guitar.

The single's artwork is an homage to Roth's time in Van Halen, while John 5 said of the single "I remember being in the studio with Dave cutting this track it was magic one of my fondest memories. I've loved Van Halen my whole life and that will never change."
