Watch: FRED DURST Plays KORN's JONATHAN DAVIS A Demo Of LIMP BIZKIT's Third Album For The First Time

It's a classic moment in nü-metal history.

Limp Bizkit introduced themselves to great fanfare when they dropped their solo LP Three Dollar Bill Y'all in 1997, and they upped their game substantially on their sophomore release Significant Other in 1999 largely on the strength on the smash hit track "Nookie."

But still, the band was one step away from pure domination at the time the way their nü-counterparts in Korn were a few years prior. Ultimately, Three Dollar Bill Y'all was adored (or despised, depending) for the novelty of the cover of George Michael's "Faith." And while "Nookie" was an original, it had the air of soft-core 2 Live Crew fused the most basic of guitar riffs. Hot chorus, sure? But not exactly built to last, if you know what I mean. What they needed was an anthem, and in "Rollin' (Air Raid Vehicle)" from Limp Bizkit's third LP Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water in 2000, they found the key that unlocked the door to the world.

By chance, Korn and Limp Bizkit caught up in 2000 at KROQ radio's annual Weenie Roast in Los Angeles, and now, video has surfaced of Durst playing a demo of the album back stage for the members of Korn. As "Hot Dog," the proper opening track to the album unfolds, you can see a big smile begin to grow on Korn vocalist Jonathan Davis's face, clearly amused by Durst's repeated use of the phrase "fucked up," and the tally he kept in the lyric.

You can check out this clearly defining moment in nü-metal history just above. Meanwhile, Limp Bizkit have tour dates for UK and Europe coming up at the end of this month. As well as stops at this year's Bamboozle and Rocklahoma Festivals. Though, you may want to watch this video first before thinking of inviting your kid to the show.
